Pricing of Your Tattoo

The following will outline the costs for getting tattoo completed by Tala.

We Prefer Cash

Pay for your tattoo with Cash. There are many ATM machines in the area should you wish to use Debit or Credit.  Make sure your come with the cash you need. We accept Visa and Mastercard... Reluctantly.

When setting an appointment for consultation over the phone; I'll take your VISA or MASTERCARD information at that time and charge the Scheduling Fee to your credit card. A Scheduling Fee is required to book a consultation or appointment.

What is a Scheduling Fee?

A scheduling fee is required to book a consultation with Tala.  A scheduling fee may be applied to the cost of your tattoo when the tattoo is completed.  That means the last session of the tattoo; if you have made all your appointments on time.

Scheduling Fees are non-refundable for ANY reason...  Be sure to read the policy on Scheduling Fees. Read everything on this page and in the FAQ before going ahead and booking a Tattoo.

How It is Priced

Rates will only go up, and soon. Book now. I'll give you an estimate for the time it will take to tattoo you. Tattoos are priced by the hour, the time it takes to do the tattoo.

The final figure depends on

  1. the area of the body,
  2. the size of the tattoo,
  3. tattoo complexity,
  4. tattoo density,
  5. your skin,
  6. how long it takes to place the stencil,
  7. how long it takes to draw the design on your body and finally...
  8. how well your particular skin takes the ink.

Tipping

Should you tip me? Well, YES... It's common practice to tip a tattoo artist when you are happy with your tattoo, or... you felt you got extra attention. If... you can afford it, a modest tip is 15-25%, just like a restaurant, but... any token of appreciation is welcome.

Scheduling Fee Policy

Non-Refundable & Be 100% Sure

Scheduling Fee fees are non-refundable for any reason. I really hate having to state that, but there it is. Be sure you want your tattoo with me... Once you give me the Scheduling Fee; the funds transfer to me permanently.

Re-Scheduling

You can re-schedule for up to three months, up to 48 hours before your appointment start time. Last minute re-schedules are subject to loss of Scheduling Fee. A new Scheduling Fee WILL be required for last minute rebooking/rescheduling.

If you miss your appointment... a new Scheduling Fee will be REQUIRED to book a new appointment. If you are significantly late for your session you may pay a fee for my time and trouble.

Changes in Artwork

If you want a major change in your art work, your Scheduling Fee may be used to pay for completed art work. A new Scheduling Fee may be required for new art work.

Helpful Tips

Arrive Early

Arrive early and save money. Your tattoo work takes a finite period of time, which we've booked with a consideration for the time it takes to tattoo all subsequent clients that day.

Parking

Remember, you are parking in San Francisco, in the Mission District. That means limited parking at best and you'll probably need 15-30 minutes JUST to find parking! Arrive Early... Take Bart to 16th and Mission. Park in a Bart Parking Garage and save time!

Really, Seriously;  Arrive Early

Late customers push back my scheduled appointments with subsequent clients. (who wants unhappy people/clients? Keep your fun factor high, arrive early! Save Money!) (If you arrive on time and I'm running late it's probably because an earlier client was LATE!) If you are late and in consideration of subsequent clients I may choose to have you pay another Scheduling Fee and reschedule. If you are really late or miss your appointment I may charge you for the full time we booked... (2, 3, 4, 5 hours?) PLUS a new LARGER Scheduling Fee!!!
